One of the largest megalithic monuments of the Iberian Peninsula. When Dr. Henrique Leonor Pina reached the place in 1965, the monument was covered by a gigantic mound over 50 meters in diameter and only revealing at the surface the huge slab of the chamber.
The chamber is composed of 7 major supporters that rise to about 8 meters above the bed of the chamber and was covered by a huge slab of about 7 meters in diameter. The corridor, with about 12 meters in length, measuring around 2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide, still has its cover in large part. As the example of the Cromeleque dos Almendres the construction of this monument was made by people who besides having great technical knowledge, also went through a period of economic and social prosperity. Another fact that gives great importance to this archaeological find is that, it was found intact which provided a remarkable collection, like the various objects of a ritual and adornment recovered.
